The race for the leadership of the Democratic Party in Korça has been accompanied by tension and debate, following the exclusion of Bravaldi Xhafka from the list of candidates. Xhafka currently holds the position of Organizational Secretary of the branch.

According to reports, the decision was made by leaders Berisha and General Secretary Noka.

The elections originally scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed and will take place on May 3.

Bravaldi Xhafka, who had announced his candidacy, claimed that his exclusion was related to religious reasons, thus raising another controversy within the internal electoral process in the Korça branch, writes Shqiptarja.

"This situation certainly dates back a month. We received instructions to hold elections for the head of the Democratic Party of the Korca branch.

The procedures are normal, like in any other branch. Instructions have been issued, which contain the criteria for candidacies.

All democrats of Korça have been invited, so that anyone with a plan, a platform, can come and compete as it works in a democratic party.

That's how I decided to develop, to run with my ideas, with my vision, and with my platform, which I think was a winning platform for the democrats of Korça.

"I have received an exclusionary argument, on the issue of religious balance. It is practically insulting to the community, insulting to what I represent. It is insulting to the democrats of Korça, but in reality this is the truth," he said.
