The letter from the Spanish presidency of the European Union has arrived in Albania, with the request for the submission of guidelines for the first chapter of the process of negotiations for membership.

It was approved by the Council of Permanent Representatives in the European Union.

While Albania was preparing for the second step for the start of membership talks, Greece announced that it would block the process due to dissatisfaction with the handling of the Fredi Beleri case.

However, Athina is reported to have withdrawn from this position, considering the issuance of the letter as a procedure and that it would treat Beler as a condition in the future.

The obstacle has now been passed and talks on Albania's membership in the EU will begin soon with the consideration of two essential topics, such as the rule of law and administrative reform.

The negotiation process is expected to be long for several years but ends with the final membership.
