The National Assembly of the Democratic Party convened by Lulzim Basha has started at the Asllan Rusi Sports Palace.

In today's assembly, some important changes in the DP statute are expected to be presented and approved.

Meanwhile, he also proposed the exclusion from membership of all those who ran with other entities, more specifically with Ilir Meta's Freedom Party, Sali Berisha's ally.

But what is expected to be changed in the statute?

The statutory changes that are expected to be approved in the Assembly also affect the head of the parliamentary group of the DP, where according to the new statute, when the DP is not in the governing majority, the chairman of the party is also the head of the parliamentary group, thus taking this competence from the secretary of in general of the party.

In this way, after the approval of the changes in the statute, Basha is expected to be the chairman of the DP, as well as the chairman of the parliamentary group.

Changes in the statute:

PARLIAMENTARY GROUP OF THE PARTY

1) The Parliamentary Group of the DPSH consists of its deputies in the Assembly of Albania.

2) When PDSH is the governing majority, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group is elected by the National Council's proposal of the Chairman of the Party, by secret ballot, between no less than two candidacies

3) When PDSH is not the ruling majority, the Party Chairman is also the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group. The Chairman of the Party, with his authorization, may appoint one of the Vice-Chairmen of the Party to lead the Parliamentary Group.

4) The Parliamentary Group of the DPA: a) represents the DPA in the Parliament and ensures the protection of the platform, program and interests of the DPA; b) drafts the program and determines the way of action and engagement of its deputies in the Parliament and in the respective electoral areas;

5) The rules of operation and institutional representation of the Parliamentary Group are approved by decision of the Party Presidency.

The last assembly

The last assembly that the official DP has held was that of December 18, two years ago, at the height of the war with Sali Berisha's group, where Basha gathered 5004 delegates and decided that the US non grata should stay away from the party's leadership.
