Mitsotakis in Himare

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during an interview today, spoke about the elections in his country, the impact of the elections in Turkey and relations with Albania after the arrest of Fredi Beleri by the Albanian authorities.

He described the arrest of the candidate for mayor of Himara as unacceptable, and warned in harsh tones that there will be significant consequences in Greek-Albanian relations, as long as this attitude from Tirana will continue.

"I went as prime minister some time ago to Himara and emphasized that Greece will help the ethnic minority. Albania should know that this will affect our bilateral relations, but also on Albania's path towards Europe, I will not tolerate such attitudes at the expense of our ethnic minority", he stressed .
