The Assembly approved today with 76 votes in favor, 2 against and no abstentions the resolution proposed by the Socialist Party on "anti-corruption and good governance".
The Assembly was involved in strong debates during the discussion of the anti-corruption draft resolution and the good governance of the SP.
Prime Minister Edi Rama was today in the Assembly to defend the pro-resolution that he himself proposed, stating that the special commission has nothing to do with the work of the Special Prosecutor's Office and invited the opposition to vote for it.
However, the "Reestablishment" opposition boycotted the vote, while the MPs Agron Shehaj and Dashamir Shehi voted against it.
Many oppositionists have seen Rama's anti-corruption initiative as unnecessary, while others have called it an attempt to interfere in the work of SPAK, which is attacking the corrupt even from among the socialists.
