Minister Mete announces closure of two concessions: There will be relief for
Ministers of Finance Ervin Mete

Minister of Finance Ervin Mete in his speech at the plenary session of the Assembly stated that two concessions where the Ministry of Finance is the contracting authority are going towards closure.

Specifically for two concessions where the contracting authority is the Ministry of Finance, the concession for fiscal stamps and the concession of fuel branding, the procedures for closing them are being followed, minister Mete said.

"In August this year, the following month, the concession of fuel marking ends and the service passes to the General Directorate of Customs. When this concession is completed, we have decided that the fee applied by the concessionary shall be waived. There will be no continuation of the application of the marking fee to citizens and businesses. The costs of continuing the service will be instated from the state budget", announced the Minister for the first time.

Also, as regards the other concession, that of fiscal stamps, the Minister of Finance noted that for approval at the last plenary session, the one of tomorrow are legal changes to remove the concessionary from the excise law provisions, as well as to remove the concessionary prerogatives from this law. This service from January 1, 2025 is in state management. Our goal is that once this service passes into state management, lower tariffs will be offered than those applied by the concessionary, which we believe will be easy for the business community", stated Minister Mete.

In December last year, a broad working group was set up at the Ministry of Finance, with the order of the Minister, including the State Advocate, to manage the exit process for this concessionary contract and now all procedures are being followed, so that starting from January 1, 2025, the production and distribution of fiscal stamps will be done by a public legal person, authorized by the Council of Ministers, which shall be the Printing of Securities.
