Meloni explains the meeting with Rama

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has reacted after the meeting in Rome with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, where the focus was on deepening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

In a post on social media, Meloni announced that the talks are taking place about five months after the November Intergovernmental Summit, emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination between Italy and Albania in several key areas.

According to her, the discussions focused on important issues such as cooperation in the field of defense, as well as strengthening cooperation in the fight against illegal immigration.

"Five months after the November Intergovernmental Summit, today's meeting at the Chigi Palace with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Edi Rama, has enabled an overview of the strengthening of the partnership between our countries in sectors of common interest, with a particular focus on infrastructure connectivity, protection and cooperation in the fight against illegal migration," Meloni writes.
