Prime Minister Rama, who began his working visit to Rome, Italy, this Thursday, was welcomed at an official ceremony by his counterpart Giorgia Meloni at the Chigi Palace.
Rama and Meloni then held a face-to-face meeting, focusing on the progress of cooperation between the two countries, the deepening of relations between them, as well as issues of common regional and European interest.
In a post on social media, Rama emphasizes that no Italian government has done more for Albania than Meloni's.
"All Italian governments in the last 35 years have been particularly friendly towards Albania, but no Italian government has put into motion such a busy program of strategic cooperation with Albania as the government of Giorgia Meloni. Further rapprochement with Italy through large and concrete projects brings more development and security to Albania," Rama writes.
Prime Minister Rama is known for his special relationship with his Italian counterpart, Georgia Meloni.
Later, Prime Minister Edi Rama will travel to Spain where, at the invitation of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, he will participate in the proceedings of the fourth meeting of the "In Defense of Democracy" Summit, taking place in Barcelona.
The summit's proceedings will focus on key topics such as "Institutions and Multilateralism" and "Disinformation and Digital Technology", where special attention will be paid to regulating the digital environment to combat disinformation, strengthening democratic institutions, and fighting inequalities as a foundation for a strong democracy.
Prime Minister Rama's visit to Rome and Barcelona takes place within the framework of international commitments and strengthening cooperation with European partners.
