Prime Minister Edi Rama began today's meeting in Athens with a Eid al-Fitr greeting to all Albanians there who belong to the Muslim faith. He informed those present in the hall that he is ready to answer all questions after his speech.

"To all those who are part of the Albanian community in Greece and belong to the Muslim faith, I wish you a happy Eid. The reason why we chose this hall, considering the risk that some people would not be able to enter, is that since this is the last meeting before the elections, I would like to take some questions from you."

He further reiterated that the main goal after the victory on May 11 is undoubtedly the centuries-old dream of Albanians, the country's membership in the European Union.

"With your votes, we will realize the centuries-old dream of EU membership. They are obliged to respect and appreciate us for who we are. Today, our fate is in our hands! We look forward to the 4th mandate with great optimism. This is news for you and all those who have begun to see Albania as the place they want to return to, but are still hesitant because they are unsure if they will find there at least what they have here. I tell them that they will find the opportunity to have more tomorrow than here!", said Rama.

He said that obtaining a European passport is above all about preserving national identity, learning about any other language or culture.

"Today, you have all imposed yourself on this country, the neighborhood, the street, that corner where you enter and exit every day with your children and where you greet your Greek neighbors because today you have managed to give respect, and receive respect like you did not receive before. Albania is in the same situation today, for sure! It has seen and suffered all of this, because it has had people at its helm who have not had the courage to stand up straight in front of its neighbors, Europe and the world! They have shown servility and have also accepted humiliation, causing foreigners to see us as representatives of a state that does not deserve respect and appreciation. Today, this has changed and today, the country needs you on May 11 to put its stamp on this entire process that we have undertaken together with difficulty to realize what is the ultimate obligation, to give every parent a European passport to their child and to tell them "Learn the Greek language, Greek culture. Learn Italian, French!" "Learn the culture of Europe, but you don't need to change who you are and change your passport, Albanian!"

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a meeting with Albanians in Athens, stated that "we look with optimism at the average salary of 1,000 euros in the public sector in the fourth mandate."

“A taxi driver told me that 'when we came we were 100 steps below these people, today we are one step away from them. We are ready to climb it and become one with all the other Europeans, sitting at the common table of the united European family. When we took office, the banks were drowning in bad loans. It was a red light warning of a great danger, which the Albanians of Greece have experienced firsthand, where the pyramids turned into pits and where a large part of their wealth was buried. Today, bad loans are below 5 percent, just like other countries, and Albania has no risk. When we took office, per capita income was 3,200 euros, today it is over 10,000 euros and in Albania in 2030 it will be 15,000 euros. The average salary was 370 euros, in the public sector, where people are employed to serve others, today with the year 2024, closed "With the average salary in the public sector of 1 thousand euros, we look with optimism at the fourth term ," said Rama, who immediately invited emigrants to return.

"This is news for all of you and those who have begun to see Albania as a place where they can return, but are still hesitant because they are unsure if they will find there at least what they have here, while I say that whoever has the courage to return today will find there the opportunity that tomorrow there will be more than here (Greece). The average salary at that time was 320 euros, today the average total salary between the state and the private sector is 830 euros and in the fourth mandate we will increase it to 1 thousand euros ," Rama added.
