The Ministry of Education has reacted after the closure of the non-public school "Mehmet Akif".
Based on the interest and speculation regarding the causes that led to the revocation of the license and the closure of the non-public school "Mehmet Akif Ersoy", we clarify that this decision is the result of the finding by the Ministry of Education and Sports of a series of violations of the legislation in force by the owners of the license in question.
1. They started the 2022-2023 teaching process in a location and other environments, not approved by MAS, i.e. without the corresponding legal certification of building standards.
2. They have not met the legal criteria even though MAS has carried out their verification twice.
3. In the conditions of exercising the activity outside the relevant criteria, the license must be revoked.
The Ministry of Education and Sports is in any case responsible for guaranteeing the standards, safety and well-being of students. Therefore, in compliance with the law and in support of the 160 students and their families, it will take all necessary measures to transfer the students to schools that meet the criteria and operating standards.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and Sports underlines that the revocation of the said license has nothing to do with the various speculations about the causes of this decision.
Also, the Ministry of Education and Sports clarifies to all those interested in this matter, that in this beginning of the school year, no other cases of violations of the same nature have been noticed and the legal criteria and standards are met for all other students of non-public schools .'- explains the Minister of Education Evis Kushi.
