"We support the sovereignty of Ukraine", Hasani with the Ukrainian

After two years of the Russian aggression, a summit for Ukraine is being held in Tirana. Minister Igli Hasani, in the joint conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, reiterated his support for Ukraine's sovereignty, freedom, independence and territorial integrity.

"Albania strongly condemns the Russian aggression against Ukraine and will continue its efforts to hold Russia responsible for the crimes committed in Ukraine," Hasani said.
The minister said that Albania supports the 10-point plan of President Zelensky, as the most real possibility for ending the war and achieving a lasting peace.

Together with other actors and countries, we have already taken the commitment to cooperate in the realization of Point 5, which is about "Restoring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine", as one of the most immediate objectives of ending the war. We are in full coordination with all our partner and allied countries to deal with the situation in full support for Ukraine.'- Hasani said.

Hasani underlined that Albania has prioritized the handling of the situation in Ukraine and the condemnation of Russian aggression in all international forums, as we have done during the two-year period in the UN Security Council, as we are doing in within our membership in KDNJ, or even regional organizations, where this year we also chair the initiatives of BSEC, CEI, Adriatic Charter.

The minister informed that they are in the stage of technical preparations for the opening of the Embassy of Albania in Kiev, keeping in mind the security situation in the capital of Ukraine, but we hope that the inauguration will take place in the next few months.

On the other hand, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, considered Albania as a friendly country.

'It is good to be in Tirana as part of Zelensky's delegation. I am grateful to you for organizing this important summit that involves a large volume of work. This summit shows how much appreciation Albania enjoys in the region, it sends a clear message that we will remain united. We discussed the cooperation of the two parties. Albania is a good friend of Ukraine. I want to thank Albania for its humanitarian enterprise that included the rehabilitation of Ukrainian children whose parents were buried in the war. Any support that Albania offers is appreciated,' said Kuleba.
