The Ethics Committee of the Albanian Parliament met this Tuesday to discuss the tensions and events of last Thursday's session. After the meeting of the Ethics Secretariat, the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, gave a statement to the media.
Ulsi Manja emphasized the importance of procedures and respecting regulations:
"In respect of public opinion but also of the media, given that the Secretariat for Ethics, according to the Regulation, strictly holds its meetings behind closed doors, because it is a working body of the Assembly, regardless of the opposition MPs that I have requested to be present, because they are MPs against whom action is being sought, as a rule they should be heard. Today we saw the footage from the abnormal session, with violent actions, you were witnesses and present."
After the decision to exclude DP deputies from plenary sessions for 30 days, DP deputy Flamur Noka also reacted:
"The orders of Sueli and Agas do not scare us. With the influx of citizens yesterday on the boulevard, they have received the message, so they are furious. We will not stop until they are dismantled. The ground is slipping under their feet, we are determined to carry out our mission to the end. Gysi orders and we know it, he speaks with the head, with him he distributes the tenders and orders who will be declared an enemy of the government. Everyone runs like rabbits to Gysi's office and receives orders for kidnappings, inquisitions and exclusions for the opposition. We will not stop until there is a technical government without Belinda, Linda and Mirlinda."
This decision comes at a tense time in the Assembly, after a session that featured violent actions and heated debates between opposition and majority MPs.
