Like Edi Rama a few years ago, Sali Berisha will have a "Maqo Lakrori" in the race for the leader of the Democratic Party. When it seemed that Berisha would run alone in the May 22 elections, the name of Ibsen Elez came on the scene.

Elezi has submitted the documents to the DP Election Operational Commission, but the blue headquarters has not yet formalized him as a candidate.

A few years ago, Elezi held the post of branch chairman in Kukës, while after April 25, he was among the first to demand Basha's departure and is now critical of Berisha and the Re-establishment Commission. May 7 was the deadline for submitting documents for the election process for DP chairman.

On Friday, Berisha filed the documents and registered as a candidate for the DP leader. Earlier, he has stated that he will go on May 22 even if he will be the only one in this race. The former prime minister stressed that the Democrats will hold a referendum to answer yes or no if they want Sali Berisha at the helm of the party.
