The elections organized by the Re-establishment Commission for the leader of the Democratic Party did not come as a surprise, where Sali Berisha managed to win with 40,820 votes (93.45% of the votes) against Ibsen Elez who received only 2352 votes.
But, with the votes that Ibsen Elezi received in each branch, a surprise happened (if we can call it that. He relied more on the Saranda branch than on the Kukës branch, where he is born, while this branch has run well for several years.
In Saranda Elezi received 121 votes out of 486 possible, while in Kukes 164 out of 882 possible. So with a simple calculation, Ibsen Elezi is supported by 24.9% of Democrats in Saranda, while in Kukës by 18.5% of voters.
