Prime Minister Edi Rama was in Lezhë today, where he presented the candidate for mayor, Pjerin Ndreu. In his speech, Rama also stopped at some democrats, representatives of the academic world, such as Mark Marku and Agron Gjekmarkaj.
According to Rama, both of these figures distanced themselves from Sali Berisha because they wanted America and not Moscow.
" Mark Marku and Agron Gjekmarkaj belong spiritually and traditionally to the side of the families whose history was written with the blood of the conflict with the communist regime ", said Rama
"In 2021 in Lezha they had two people in charge, with whom I had a debate and I did not like them, but whatever the case may be, they were two characters who came from the academic world, who represented the Lezha of persecuted families, who they got involved with PD, in my opinion, with great naivety, but anyway they got involved not for the chair, but to continue what they called the war with the regime. Where is Mark Marku and Agron Gjekmarkaj? Who were they replaced with and why are they not here? Because they were the first to realize that they had entered the wrong ring. They understood and, unlike the other sheep, raised their heads, publicly said what they thought and said goodbye to the flock of sheep of a non grata scumbag that comes around Albania. Even though he is 80 years old and instead of staying at home and not leaving the streets, he continues to ask for votes and talk about victory.
Mark Marku and Agron Gjekmarkaj belong spiritually and traditionally to that side. On the side of the families whose history was written with the blood of the conflict with the communist regime. On the side of families who inherited the idea of the right not from academic life, or from books, but inherited it from the memory of their great-grandmothers and grandfathers, whom communism persecuted in every cell of the family. This is the right one.
The question is why did they split from the communists? What did they want? They separated because they loved America, the West, they loved Albania as in the West, they didn't want Moscow, they didn't want communism ," said Rama.
