Head of the CEC: The American ambassador expressed concern about Russian funding
Ilirjan Celibashi

The chairman of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, said after the meeting with the American ambassador that Yuri Kim expressed concern about Russian funding in Albanian politics.

" Ambassador Kim conveyed the US concern regarding foreign financing of Albanian politics and specifically Russian financing. In the light of the latest information they have, they conveyed these concerns to Albanian actors so that they increase attention so that foreign funding, and not only Russian funding, does not have an impact on Albanian politics."

Regarding the CEC's investigation of political party money, Celibashi emphasized that legal changes will be needed, however, today's discussion was not of a technical nature, but to express concern.

"The nature of the discussion was kind of informative and conveying concern. There were no discussions of a technical nature. It remains to be seen as a concern. I think that in the future there will be changes ".
