Prime Minister Edi Rama claimed today that after his statements about men, he has received many messages. But for him, facts are more important.

During a meeting with women and girls in Korça, he said that if men are leaving the Socialist Party because women are being praised, they don't have what his party needs.

But what the Socialist Party doesn't need at all, according to him, are those who "flood" in the swamp, who, despite being good at their job, are, for the socialist leader, politically stupid.

"I wanted to share a concern with you because today I have had some complaints and messages from some men, party comrades in particular, who are concerned about why I praise women and, according to them, it is up to men. Someone even wrote to me before I came here, "what's wrong, you man of the earth, you praise women as much as you want, but we have women. The thing is, by upholding men, our men will leave us." I don't know what you think, I personally think that those men who leave us don't understand why women should be praised more, we don't need them. First, second, I don't insult men. Not ever. I don't insult men, that's how I think.

Today it is a fact that the SP at the national level is supported by 56% of women and girls. There are circles where this support goes up to 65%. But this means that when it comes to men, the difference is much smaller. Now I say that those men who, like the vast majority of women, support the SP are not only good at their job, they are also open-minded and politically wise. Those men who sit and wallow in the swamp, they may be very good at their job, but for me they are sycophants. Politically sycophants. Nobody needs them. If they get upset, I am sorry, but I am not upset, I believe that what the SP has done for Albania in these years gives us many reasons to be proud, but the reason for me to be proud is that this party has done a great task by creating spaces that until yesterday women either had very narrow spaces, or lacked them altogether", said Rama.
