A day after officially confirming that he will announce his candidacy for the Municipality of Tirana, Socialist MP Erion Braçe seems to be gaining support even within the Socialist Party.

Former Socialist Party MP Petro Koçi has supported Braça's candidacy, stating that it is a positive innovation. According to him, the socialist MP has always been active on urban issues and certain issues.

"I see Braça's movement as a positive innovation, for the announcement of the candidacy and the race for the Municipality of Tirana. I do not see a hostile environment towards Braça."

"He has always been active on urban issues and certain issues. We don't know if he will be selected or not. Sometimes it is also related to the ambitions of the issue. Sometimes he may be suitable for mayor but he doesn't think of it or he hasn't been proposed," said Koçi.

When asked who he would choose between Braça and Manastirliu, Koçi said that the MP's candidacy would be appropriate and would not diminish the value of the other candidate.

"Brace or Manastirliu? I can't answer because it would be provocative. But Brace would be a suitable candidacy. A person with state experience, scrupulous, journalistic, with political morals and I hope he succeeds in the end, I see him as a suitable candidacy and I hope he succeeds."

"But this does not diminish the dignity of the other candidates. However, the candidates are selected by the party structures. This would be an optimal candidacy for the Socialist Party as well," he stated in an interview.
