The day Edi Rama confirmed that the Socialists would vote against SPAK's request to lift Belinda Balluku's immunity, the head of the EU delegation, Silvio Gonzato, was summoned to Brussels to report on the situation in Albania.
The meeting of the Enlargement Working Group at the Council of the European Union, which had not included the discussion on enlargement with Albania on the agenda for months, was reactivated after the changes in the government cabinet in Tirana, where one of the issues discussed was the immunity of parliamentarians.
One of the issues that Gonzato informed the representatives of the European Union member states about, in addition to various reforms, was the Balluku issue and justice reforms, which are related to Albania's progress in the first chapter group, which are also fundamental issues.
The parliamentary majority report on the Balluku case will be voted on Thursday in a plenary session where the Socialists' votes are more than sufficient to reject the Special Prosecution's request for authorization from the Assembly to impose a more severe coercive measure on the former Deputy Prime Minister.
