The Special Court Against Organized Crime has accepted the request of Fatmir Mediu for an ordinary trial with normal procedure.

The next session will be held on September 22.

After taking the decision, the lawyer of the Duraj family, Dorian Matlija, said that it is the right of the defense to use all legal instruments in court, adding that not all those who were accused were guilty.

Dorian Matlija: It is the right of the defense to use any kind of instrument. Not all those who were accused were guilty. The key role is to break down the role played by the Minister of Defense.

After the court session, Fatmir Mediu's lawyer, Ardian Visha, did not prefer to give details about the process.

Ardian Visha: Nothing important, I have no comment to make. We have written the reasons why we call them. I am not a fortuneteller to know how long this process will take.

Mediu's lawyers have also requested that 90 people, Albanian and foreign citizens, be called as witnesses in the trial. Among the witnesses that Mediu's defense has requested to call are the former Deputy Secretary of Defense in DASH, the former Minister of Defense of Germany, Italy and North Macedonia, four NATO generals, representatives of SAC, as well as ex- ministers Pandeli Majko, Besnik Mustafaj, Ridvan Bode, Aldo Bumçi, Mimi Kodheli and former head of SHISH Bahri Shaqiri.
