Fatos Lubonja responds to his former friend Rama and accuses Berisha: He is

Fatos Lubonja reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statement during the SP Parliamentary Group meeting that the analyst "has been living with the nightmare of the mafia since he broke up with me," while talking about the protest in Zvërnec.

In an interview with News24, Lubonja said that he has never had a personal or social relationship with Rama, but they were united by the ideas and vision they once shared as intellectuals for the good of the country. According to him, the prime minister is the one who has moved away from the principles and values they promoted together at that time, embracing, according to him, what he described as the "mafia of power."

"It is in the continuation of his way of communicating where he does not like, he finds the enemy and attacks him. I saw the part where he talks about me, and here of course I do not want to talk about myself, but about the concern we have as Albanians. Regarding the mafia, since he said that 'he broke up with me he lives with the nightmare of the mafia'. First of all, I have never been united with old social ties of the army, of the prison.

Rama and I were united by some ideas that we had as intellectuals at the time that were related to politics, how politics should be done because of Berisha's authoritarianism. About democracy and freedom, which were related to the old and new culture, and to the vision of how Albania would be made in contrast to what we saw in the '90s.

The one who separated not from me, but from the ideas we had promoted together is Edi Rama to embrace what I have called the mafia of this government. He is doing the opposite of those ideas that we promoted as intellectuals at that time. The same thing is also related to the project in question," said Lubonja.

The analyst added that the situation caused in Zvërnec highlights the way in which, according to him, the prime minister's power system functions.

"What I said there is that what happened in Zvërnec dismantles the entire system of Rama's power that is held on four legs, where one is the oligarchs around him. It is the money of organized crime that connects the oligarchy and the state. And the corrupt internationals, who are used to legitimize Rama internationally. This is the system that is exposed in Zvërnec. I called for protests not only to the Police," he said.

Analyst Fatos Lubonja also criticized the Democratic Party's silence regarding the clash and violence against a protester in Zvërnec.

Lubonja stated that the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has not reacted to this issue because, according to him, he remains connected to the oligarchy.

According to Lubonja, another reason for the lack of reaction is related to Berisha's expectations towards the administration of US President Donald Trump and the hope for the lifting of the "non grata" status.

"Berisha is not reacting because until yesterday he was connected to the oligarchy that apparently has a hand in Zvërnec. One of the most successful moves Rama has made is to take away from Berisha those oligarchs that he once had when he was prime minister. If the two parties had been separated with their own oligarchs, there would have been a little more democracy in Albania. But he took them all. But he keeps the favors that they have done hostage. So is Rrjoli.

The second is that he will not, they have the illusion that with the departure of the Biden administration, the Trump administration will be in support of him, perhaps to the point of coming to remove Rama like Maduro and to the idea that they will remove the women's name. He does not react because he will not break with the Americans and the oligarchs. The opposition should not be satisfied with only attacking Rama as a person, but also the oligarchy", he emphasized.
