The head of the SP parliamentary group, Balla, said that the investment in Zvërnec will take place, while praising the pro-project stance of the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha.

He hinted at interference from neighbors against the project in question as he mentioned that foreign investment in the country has increased.

"I cannot help but appreciate the fact and the pro-investment stance. A historic investment, the largest in the history of Albania, which I will talk about a little later. It was said here that foreign investments have fallen. Now, foreign direct investments, in 2012, which was your last year in power, Mr. Sali, were 666 million euros. In 2025, the figure for foreign direct investments is 1.64 billion euros. Now with Luli's mathematics, it could be 1.64 billion greater than 666 million.

But with normal mathematics, 666 in 1.64 comes in at least 2.5 times. So foreign direct investments in Albania have increased by at least 2.5 times. But sir, congratulations on being elected as the leader of the DP and it was not known who would win. As for GDP, the GTP was somewhere below 10 billion euros, while in 2025 we exceeded 27 billion euros. So we have tripled the country's economy in such a short time. The investment in Zvërnec will be made, don't forget that the neighbor envies the neighbor, maybe not the first, but other elements, they would want the investment for themselves, "said Balla, among other things.

The leader of the DP praised Zvërnec's investment, emphasizing that it is the only foreign investor in 13 years who is facing attempts to leave Albania.

"But, in all this history, what do we have? The only foreign investor in 13 years is facing attempts to leave Albania. I'm telling you clearly: for 13 years there has been no significant foreign investor on Albanian soil. According to 'Europe Tender', no tender in Albania has been won by a European company. Don't forget this fact. One of the most powerful companies, which was going to build a tourist resort in Lalzi Bay worth 1.5 billion euros, faced obstacles and constant pressure until it left. Its owner waited in the offices for a solution, but to no avail. Today we don't have any significant foreign investors. What is happening? What is the position of the Democratic Party? Our position is clear: we believe that foreign investments are vital for the development of Albania.

From 2008 to 2013, foreign investments ranged from 1.2 to 1.4 billion euros per year. Meanwhile, today, the Democratic Party continues to support foreign investments, but you are driving away the only foreign investor left in Albania. Keep this in mind. If an investor has a project approved by the government and documents signed by official institutions, cadastres and other state agencies, then, after the state has approved the project, the investor should not be held responsible for subsequent conflicts. Any citizen who claims injustice or abuse must face the state, which has the obligation to compensate him with the real market value and, at the same time, to punish forgers and speculators by the force of the law,” said Berisha.
