Iran attacks, Ferit Hoxha calls his counterpart in Kuwait: You have

Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha held a telephone conversation with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, at a tense moment for security in the Gulf region.

Hoxha himself announced the communication through a post on X, where he emphasized Albania's clear stance against the attacks launched by Iran against Kuwait. According to him, these actions constitute a clear violation of international law and the sovereignty of the Kuwaiti state, while creating serious risks for the security of citizens, the economic stability of the country and for peace in the region and beyond.

Hoxha also confirmed that Albania will co-sponsor a draft resolution at the UN Security Council, initiated by the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which condemns Iranian attacks on several countries in the region and calls for their immediate cessation.

Today I spoke with the Foreign Minister of Kuwait, H.H. Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Albania strongly condemns Iran's attacks against #Kuwait, which constitute a clear violation of international law, a violation of Kuwait's sovereignty, and pose serious threats to the security of its people, the country's economy, and to regional and global peace. Albania stands in full solidarity with Kuwait against any destabilizing actions.

I reiterated our unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kuwait - a fundamental principle of Albania's foreign policy.

I also confirmed that Albania will co-sponsor the draft UN Security Council resolution circulated by the GCC Member States, which condemns Iran's attacks against Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, and calls for their immediate cessation.

I expressed our gratitude to the Kuwaiti authorities for the extraordinary care and support they have provided to #Albanian citizens in Kuwait during these difficult and challenging times.
