Blerta Kllokoqi Rugova, the wife of the son of the late former president of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova, was the next guest on Prime Minister Edi Rama's podcast, "Flasim".

During the conversation with the head of the Albanian government, while talking about business and the ambition to expand its enterprises, Blerta Kllokoqi Rugova also showed the plans to engage more in politics. She criticized some of the policies followed by the current government of Kosovo, especially in relation to the United States of America. While Rama emphasized the necessity for small countries like ours to have big friends like the USA.

Rama: What would you do differently? (asks him about involvement in politics)

Rugova: We are talking about medicine, as I studied it myself. I have no doubt that it is not being worked on, but in general, health insurance is an element that requires immediate intervention, it needs concrete steps to be taken, because we move a lot towards Macedonia for health and spend a lot, or in Turkey. We have to work hard in this direction, so that at least the infrastructure and the salary of doctors are fixed because doctors are leaving. First of all, we must follow a path from what we had earlier, not to spoil the relations with the internationals. This is a personal fear of mine and probably of many others who have been or are active in politics. We are looking at the latest developments with a very critical eye, especially the criticisms that are coming the most from the United States of America. These are some elements to look at, the election is very soon.

Rama: For me, it is an absolute prerequisite for any small country to have friends. I'm bringing the example of a small country and a rich country in the Middle East, it's a conversation with the leader of that country. I remember when we were discussing the United States of America. It is known that there was a confused context, that the issue of Palestine has divided the relationship between Israel and the Arab countries with a knife. But, due to the issues of Palestine and different positions with Israel, I am aware that the relationship with the USA is also controversial. But I don't forget when he said that we have God's blessing because we are a rich country. All that underground wealth. We had the opportunity to grow and today we are a prosperous country. But don't forget, we are too small to sleep peacefully unless we have big friends. Because the day someone bigger knocks on our door, we can protect the house if we have a friend bigger than him. Keeping friends in the conditions of countries like ours is a prerequisite for which everyone has international relations, the relationship between the home and what is outside the home.
