The European Union has condemned the attacks by Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha against the European Ambassador in Tirana, Silvio Gonzato.

In a post on social media, he calls Berisha's statements unacceptable and emphasizes that the EU ambassador has always acted with professionalism and integrity.

“An EU spokesperson responded to personal attacks against EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato on Europe Day: "Such statements are unacceptable. The EU strongly condemns the personal attacks made on Europe Day against the European Union Ambassador to Albania. The EU Ambassador has acted at all times with full professionalism and integrity. We have full confidence in him and his work ," the post said.

On Europe Day, Berisha accused the European ambassador to our country, calling Gonzato "Edi Rama's ambassador", and claiming that he has transmitted false information to Brussels against the Albanian opposition.
