The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, speaking to the media after the meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly Niko Peleshi on the new structure of the parliament, leveled accusations against the majority.

Bardhi said that they learned about the changes to the parliamentary committees from the media on the day of the SP Assembly.

According to him, the majority has violated the constitution and Albania becomes the first country to remove the opposition from the leadership of the Integration Commission. He argues that since the government has also declared integration a priority this mandate, it should not merge this commission with the Foreign Affairs one.

"The Assembly and parliamentary committees are joint working mechanisms and, as in any democratic country, the organization of work should be a joint product. The fact of introducing changes in the SP assembly, made today complete with the appointment of the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the SP, shows the authoritarian spirit that Rama has installed in the Republic of Albania. For us, it is unacceptable. Secondly, we have explained that with the action of dissolving the Integration Committee, the mechanism that the opposition had in its hands for its constructive role and to provide consensus, is now nullified because this committee has merged with the external one and after 21 years the opposition will no longer have the process of leading this process. The position that we did not dissolve the Integration Committee but the External one, in fact reflects what we have said, the will of the majority to exclude the opposition from the integration process. Secondly, it was brought to us as an argument that we have followed the model of the bodies of the German Bundestag. There is also an external and European issues. The DP parliamentary group has asked the assembly institutions to conduct a study on how parliamentary committees are organized in the region and secondly how parliamentary committees are organized in some of the EU member states. And according to the assembly's own study, in all Balkan countries there is also a European integration committee, which in all countries is led by the opposition, as well as foreign affairs committees. Albania becomes the first country that does not simply exclude the opposition from the integration process, and does not have a dedicated committee for integration. The third is the reduction of the role that each of the committees has. None of the thematic committees will be able to exercise its control function for the implementation of laws due to the special committees. The majority's plan to convene the assembly in three days urgently as if we were in a state of emergency violates the assembly's regulations and this means a violation of the constitution", said Bardhi.
