Digitization of financial services, Rama "task" BSH: Fast and real

Prime Minister Edi Rama met today with representatives of the banking system, to whom he once again pointed out the fact that a good part of the second level banks continue to operate with traditional methods.

In the meeting, where the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko and the Minister of Finance, Ervin Mete, are also present, Rama asked the representatives of the banks to implement "open banking" within this year.

During his speech he said that the banks should already be at the level of the challenge that is Albania, in order to "shine in Europe" while he gave the "task" to the Bank of Albania to lead the digitization process as soon as possible. Possible. He said that they want to do this process in peace, but they will do it anyway because according to Rama, whatever another country does, there is no reason why Albania should not apply it.

"We want quick and real change, not in a few years but this year. Pensioners who receive pensions through new systems, businesses that sell through these systems. We want to see a real decrease in cash in circulation, a real increase in the transparency of money and income for the country. We want to do this in complete understanding and peace, but in all cases we will definitely do it, because we cannot accept this terrible inertia. BSH should lead this process with great strength. We will not accept all excuses, alibis that come from breaking the comfort zone. Everything that another country does, there is no reason why Albania cannot do it", said Rama, addressing the representatives of the banking system.

"We ask the banks to rise to this challenge, which is Albania's challenge. A very difficult challenge, which should shine in Europe. Technology, as much as it gives us the opportunity to accelerate progress, means that every day we lose leaves us far behind", said Rama.
