"Defender Europe 23", Yuri Kim: USA, Albania and NATO allies are more

Ambassador Yuri Kim was present at the activity for the launch of the Defender 2023 military exercise.

Yuri Kim said that this exercise shows that the US together with allied countries can carry out any mission. Kim also quoted the words of Skanderbeg, saying that unity makes power.

" This is an extraordinary moment, we are lucky to have it here, in a square used by a brutal dictator dedicated to isolating Albania from the world, Albanians were told that the USA were their enemies.

Look around you, a changed Albania and this is historic, here we are in a democratic Albania, surrounded by men and women in uniform from the USA, Albania and international partners, we are here as allies, friends and partners, Americans and Albanians standing side by side side by side, once separate, now NATO allies and closest military partners.

In the two years since Defender 2021, the world has changed, Albania and our NATO allies are more united and stronger than ever.

I can't help but remember Skanderbeg's words, unity makes power. Since Defender 2021, Albania and the US are doing more together than ever before. We established the first two US military presences in the history of Albania.

Defender 2023 will show us that together with allies and partners we can accomplish any mission, to the men and women in uniform thank you for the service you chose to protect your country, protect us. We are proud to call Albania an ally and friend ," said Kim.
