The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, in a communication with journalists regarding the May 11 elections, stated that the CEC has communicated with party representatives regarding proposals for CEAZ members.
Celibashi, among other things, stated that the Assembly has been asked to approve the budget for the political parties that will participate in the elections.
Ilirjan Celibashi: We have communicated with representatives of four political parties to bring to the CEC the relevant proposals for members of the CEAZ and still to this day, at this moment in time, there is no proposal submitted by any of the political parties, but we are in the process of communicating with them. We have completed the process of training trainers who will be engaged in training the entire election administration and all those who will be engaged in the election process, including electronic identification operators who are also the target group of training by these trainers. We have asked the Assembly to approve the budget for the political parties that will participate in the elections as soon as possible and, with a clear difference from other times, this budget will be made available to electoral subjects well before the start of the campaign, as we are witnesses that in past elections this budget was made available very few days before the election date, in some cases even when the election campaign had started.
Meanwhile, regarding the diaspora vote, Celibashi has made a summary of all the results so far, including the number of requests and more.
Ilirjan Celibashi: Regarding voting from abroad, we have the latest data regarding the process of registering voters from abroad. We have added some data to the dashboard that is public for everyone. There are 116,190 who have made a request, so unique voters, not requests. So this is the number of those who have submitted a request. 140,796 is the number of requests where a voter has made more than one request, or has applied more than twice. In PEER. There are 86,570 voters whose request to be on the voters' list of voters from abroad has been approved. While the number of voters whose request has been rejected is 25,401. The figure of 49,959 is the number of rejected requests, so it also includes cases where a voter has had their request rejected more than once. The number of cases where voters have requested to be on the list and their request has been rejected is 25,401, so almost 50% of those that appear to be 49,959, which many have considered as the number of rejections, is not this number.
Celibashi also reveals which countries have the highest number of applications: However, this form of dashboard with this data will be public from today and will help anyone to interpret in a realistic and fair way any figure related to voting from abroad. The countries with the most applications are Italy, Greece and Germany, respectively with 37% Italy, 27% Greece and 11.9% Germany.
