Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office with journalists from various European Union countries.
One of the journalists asked him about the protest against construction in Zvërnec and whether this has anything to do with European integration, as the European Commission stated.
Rama said he had never heard anything like this from the European Commission. He said protests are taking place in Albania like in any other EU country.
Journalist: Is this protest in the streets of Tirana something related to European integration? Are you afraid?
Rama: It has nothing to do with integration. We are showing that we are a country like any other EU country.
Journalist: Because the European Commission said that maybe, if the protests continue...?
Rama: Which Commission tells you these things? I haven't heard them.
I don't think there is a Commission that says that if the protests continue, it means the country is not European.
