Prime Minister Edi Rama was in Fier today in a conversation with pensioners in the framework of the campaign launched for the full declaration of salaries.
Rama said that the time has come to look further into the issue of pensions because the economy has grown and there are opportunities.
He said that the increase in pensions cannot be done because there is a desire or political interest at a certain moment, because if this happens, it opens a big hole more dangerous than the pyramids and bankrupts the state.
" We have set aside not a small amount of $20 million annually to offset the electricity of single retirees, or those who are the head of a family, are a couple or alone. Now that everyone has received their benefits from the growth of the economy, in the form of wages, in the form of investments, pensioners must also enter this mosaic and pensioners receive a benefit from the growing economy.
We will prepare for a new bonus, it should be higher than this one, because otherwise we have no reason to discuss. This is the first step, immediate and permanent. It is a fund that we will set aside for retirees. We are making the projections to start the gradual increase within the next term. We are working on another measure to connect retirees with direct economic growth. We want that anything that grows beyond forecasts, we have to attribute it to pensioners.
The two objectives for the fourth term. The first is membership in the EU and the second is to ease the breathing of pensioners as much as possible, so that Albania in the EU is not just the Albania of all others who are of active age with greater opportunities, wherever and Albania where pensioners start the day more cheerfully. These are the two fundamental objectives of the fourth term and don't have any doubt ," he said.
