The National Assembly of the Socialist Party has started, where it is expected to discuss the new elections of SP mayors in 61 municipalities and the party program for the second half of the year.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that the members of this body can nominate a candidate for chairmen of SP branches throughout Albania.

According to Rama, people from outside the forum of the National Assembly can participate in this competition, but the members of this structure are not excluded to compete.

"This is an election of great importance, not only for the next local elections, which we will pay attention to throughout the second half of this year. But it is extremely important for the years to come, it is a necessity to give party at leadership levels a new political profile, which assures us that the party has a voice in the territory, where party leaders are neither the shadow of the mayor, nor their competitor, nor officials dealing with employment.

Duhet të jenë njerëz që çojnë zërin e PS në territor, organizojnë komunikimin e partisë në të gjithë territorin, dhe të dinë që komunikojnë me njerëzit, që janë shtrati i ri politik i PS-së së nesërme. Procesi do të jetë jashtëzakonisht i rëndësishëm dhe real, do të shmanget çdolloj formalizmi, për këtë arsye duhet që të shmangen nxjerrjet në ballë të drejtuesve të partisë, që janë rezultat i konflikteve, apo përplasjes për të ndryshuar ekuilibrat e forcave, të grupeve të ndryshme.
