Berisha hopes for 'Generation Z': They have overthrown many

DP leader Sali Berisha has called on citizens to unite and condemn Rama's regime. After the Balluku affair, the opposition has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Rama and Belinda Balluku.

"Edi Rama has filled not only the cup but everything. He deserves every punishment for what he has done to the nation," said Berisha, in the speech organized in front of the prime minister's office. Berisha further said that generation Z is the hope to overthrow the regime.

Excerpt from Berisha's speech:

"Dear friends, in these two years, much has been written and spoken about Generation Z, a generation that is the young people who actually overthrew cruel dictatorships in Nepal, Bangladesh, and other countries.

The truth is that this generation has become the bravest, most brilliant spokesperson for the ideals of the time, the aspirations of the time.

This generation is therefore at the forefront of the battle for freedom of human society.

But if we go back 35 years ago, students at the University of Tirana were in conditions more incomparable than students in any other country.

In Albania, everything, every effort was suppressed and the general decision seemed to be that Albania was a stronghold of socialism on the shores of the Adriatic.

A small group of students, no more than a hundred, disagreed and one night on December 8, they protested in their city.

At 1 am, they were received by the President of the Republic at the time, who after the meeting reserved for them the whip of State Security.

Friends, the next day they filled the square and the streets, establishing themselves as invincible.

They stood their ground and in a three-day battle brought the most brutal, oppressive, and repressive regime of the time to its knees.

Today, after 35 years, we are no longer a monist dictatorship.

The December students did not have a political force that could stand up to them.

The truth is that even the frightened citizens did not approach them for the first two days.

But they continued and won.

Today, Albanians have a political force, and that is the Democratic Party.

Party founded by December students.

Party of December ideals.

The party, which is the second and only one in the entire former communist space that survived the floods and all attempts to eliminate it, gathers here today, sworn as never before to once again restore to the pedestal the high ideals of the December movement, the freedom of Albanians, the free vote, their dignity, the Albanian family, the national interest of Albanians.
