Blendi Klosi was invited to "Shqipëria Live" on Top Channel, where he spoke about the cancellation of the elections in Tirana, Ogerta Manastirliu as a candidate, the dismissal of Erion Veliaj from the Municipal Council, but also about the suspension of Belinda Balluku from the GJKKO, after accusations of violating equality in tenders.
The Secretary General of the Socialist Party said that the Socialist Party is ready for elections at any time. Regarding the question of whether Manastirliu will again be a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, he said that it is not yet known, as there is still a year and a half until the local elections.
For Veliaj, he said that the dismissal by members of the City Council was political.
"Ogerta is the political leader of the Tirana district, the Tirana municipality. She has the duty to lead the Tirana Socialist Party. Will she be a candidate again? It will be a process that will take its time, a year and a half. If the race were on November 9, Ogerta would win more deeply than on May 11.
Veliaj is the Mayor of Tirana. We can say that we have transformed Tirana. Thanks to this transformation we get votes, the story with the individual is another thing. Are there problems with Veliaj's removal from office? Of course there are. But, we... if there had been a race on November 9, we would have won more deeply.
"I was not part of the vote. His dismissal was a political decision," he said.
Secretary General Blendi Klosi was also asked about the Rama-Balluku meeting at the Prime Minister's Office, the day the GJKKO decided to suspend her from office.
"The Deputy Prime Minister has her office in the Prime Minister's Office. There was no doubt that there were conversations, but I have information that it is not true that they spent 7 hours. (...) The public has no interest in how much the Prime Minister talks," said Klosi, without giving more details about this meeting.
