Berisha: We will soon start national protests, we will not boycott Parliament
Sali Berisha

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, announced today the organization of a national protest soon, emphasizing that this will not have the nature of a boycott of parliament, but will be accompanied by a dual strategy: battle inside the halls of Parliament and citizen mobilization outside it.

In a statement from the blue headquarters, he described the political course that, according to him, led to this decision as a result of "violated votes" and "stolen elections."

Berisha also accused the government of using state and media capacities to influence the election outcome.

Sali Berisha: This does not mean boycotting the parliament, no.
But this means that the opposition will wage a battle within the parliament as well.
It has all the potential, all the heritage and this incessant violence, this silencing of the opposition in the parliament, it will respond with adequate means, both in the committees and in the parliament hall.
First.
Second, this is the opposition of the violated vote.
This is the majority of the stolen elections.
The national protests are very late and will soon communicate before you the first national protest and then the next one, where we invite all those citizens who are ready to fight for the free vote against a regime that has confiscated it, stolen it.
Against a regime that has used all the executive, state, financial, logistical, media potential to buy, to influence, to affect and to take the vote from the Albanians.
Our attempt to transform the parliament into a tribune of the speech of citizens and their interests, encounters absurdity, in unprecedented parliamentary banditry in the history of the country.
The government was approved without debate.
Its program without debate.
The budget yesterday without debate.
All without debate.
Then we will open the parliamentary-citizen platform in front of the Council of Ministers building as a first step.
But we are determined to stand against this regime with all our potential and strength.
We will not submit.
