Berisha starts making promises: We will make the oil price the lowest in the
Sali Berisha

Sali Berisha vows that after the Democrats come to power, Albanians will pay the lowest oil price in the region. In a conversation with pensioners from Elbasan, the leader of the Democrats said that Albania ranks among the 4 countries with the highest oil prices in the world.

"The problem is that Rama taxes every liter of oil at 1.1 euros, and this is a tax that does not exist at 1.1 dollars when oil is sold at pumping stations in the US. We will necessarily have oil at the minimum of the regional average price, but how can Kosovo have it 40-50% cheaper than it gets from Durrës and by truck from Thessaloniki?!"

Under Edi Rama's 12-year rule, he says that pensioners are the most exploited category. Berisha promises a new distribution scheme that starts with salary and pension increases.

"Yes, it is a crime not to increase pensions. Today, every pensioner pays the same amount for energy as those who receive 7 thousand euros in the state. We will escalate, fully proportionalize energy, water and services. There will be a completely different distribution. We will set the minimum wage at 500 euros to begin with, the average wage at 1200 euros."

Berisha also spoke with concern about the laundering of drug money and crime, which he said is being done with the government's blessing in the construction sector.

"Have you seen the towers in Tirana? Ask how much they profit from these towers. They are all empty because drugs, trafficking buy them up by the floors. So what happens? They have increased prices, they have made apartments forbidden for our children. One has to work from 70 to 100 years to buy an apartment in Tirana."

There are two weapons that Albanians can use to overthrow what Berisha calls Edi Rama's dictatorship.

"We must create, dear friends, the broadest front to break with this dictatorship. We are of civil disobedience."

Berisha's meetings come within the framework of the presentation of the Democrats' economic program for the May 11 parliamentary elections.
