The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, presented today from Saranda the candidates for the Vlora district, while also speaking about the key points of the blue party's program.
Focusing on young people, he made a strong promise related to their student fees. As on other occasions, Berisha promised that students will receive a minimum of 200 euros, a vital minimum that will serve them to repay the necessary monthly payments.
"Can Saranda be great without its youth? A country without youth is a country without dreams, a human desert. If there is a country that loses its youth in the most ruthless way, it is Albania of these 12 years. Did you know that the UN announced that Albania will have the lowest birth rate in the world, due to the departure of young people. Are these not cries that come from the soul of the nation, from the depths of the soil of this country, that we make it impossible for our young people to build their dream in Albania?
We will do everything so that every young person can get an education. The average is removed, there is no more average. There are no more fees, it will be symbolic, or it will be removed altogether.
The scholarship will be 200 euros. The employment of every young person, every entrepreneur will have insurance paid for 1 year. Every young person who gets married and builds his family in Albania will have a grant of 30 thousand euros. The third child will be paid by the state until the age of 23. The first child will have a bonus of 70 euros, the second child will have a bonus of 60 euros. We will do everything so that young people, 700 thousand of whom have left in the last 10 years, return to Albania. We will finance their businesses, 5 years will be tax-free. A nation without youth is a nation without a future", said Berisha.
In his speech, Berisha did not spare his words about the greatness of Saranda, where he also praised the peace between the different communities in this city. The democratic leader also focused on pensions, which he said are ridiculous.
"Talking in Saranda about Great Saranda, about Great Albania is more grounded than anywhere else because in every view you see of this area there is eternal grandeur. Saranda has an extraordinary cultural and natural heritage. It is the region of the most beautiful jewels of human culture. It has the most amazing natural cultural park that perhaps no other place in the world has. Saranda has the grandeur of its own people. Here in this region, Albanians, Greeks, people of different origins have lived in peace for centuries.
But what is our Saranda today? Saranda is the city of elderly men and women who, after having merged their lives in this city, experience the tyranny of misery. They experience a survival with a ridiculous pension. Friends, we must not forget one thing. We who experienced the dictatorship, in fact it was a dictatorship and class war. Today, the pensioner, the construction worker, the doctor, the teacher, the engineer, the professional lives with a pension that makes daily food more and more difficult every day. Let them go without medication. This week I am not taking medication. Who is the one who can satisfy himself or his people with a ridiculous pension like this. And let's not forget that 50% of them do not receive 170 thousand Lekë. So what happened in this country. How is it possible that poverty returned? Yes, yes because the prices from 2013 to today have more than doubled, most of the basic foods , "said Berisha.
Berisha emphasized that the entire program of the Democratic Party is based on two main principles, while inviting citizens not to view this as a party project.
"Our entire program is based on two principles: money for Albanians, money for citizens, and the second is a new opportunity for every Albanian. Therefore, I invite citizens not to judge it as a party project, not to judge it as a political project, but as a project for every Albanian ," said Berisha.
