The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has revealed at today's conference their program to stop the decline in exports and encourage them. Berisha said that initially a euro fixing board will be created. He added that he will compensate exporters for all the losses they have from the fall of the euro and that the compensation will be from the level of the euro in the market to the level fixed by the government.

Another point from the DP program, Berisha said, is the drastic reduction of taxes in all export enterprises and the abolition of VAT on energy. He also said that the price of electricity for exports will be single-digit, not double-digit.

PART OF BERISHA'S SPEECH:

An urgent intervention is necessary to save exports and promote them. First, the government will create a euro fixing board. It is not possible for the narcoeuro to destroy the Albanian economy in this way. The government will compensate exporters for all the losses they have from the fall of the euro and the compensation will be from the level of the euro in the market to the level fixed by the government.

So, if we say a euro at 138 lekë and in the market it is exchanged for 100 lekë, each euro will be compensated to the exporter with 38 lekë. In this way, we will zero out the toxic effect of narcoeuros on the Albanian economy. At least in exports. The creation of the board will be one of the first acts after the inauguration of the DP government.

Secondly, the government will drastically reduce taxes on all export enterprises. It will abolish VAT on energy. We will directly enter into agreements with energy enterprises to buy energy without VAT, to buy oil without VAT, without excise duty. Otherwise, the export economy is dying, we will no longer have exports, we will be a country that only imports and circulates the euros of drug barons.

They will be given the opportunity to freely use the credit surplus, which they never receive, to pay personal income tax, social security contributions and any other current fiscal obligation. I said, in addition to bringing all capital investments without VAT, electricity will be without VAT. The price of electricity for exports will be single-digit, not double-digit.

A large reduction in the employer's social security contribution. Considering that we now declare the minimum wage at 500 euros, then some relief is needed for the employer. And this is one of the reliefs that are made for him. Customs will completely change its attitude towards exporters. Any of their expenses at customs will be covered by the state, not by the exporter.

An export protection office will be created, which aims to protect them from any kind of bureaucratic and mafia arbitrariness, various pressures and will do everything for free and fair competition. We are confident that with these rapid measures, we will restore the interest of foreign and Albanian entrepreneurs to produce and export in Albania.

Albania may be a very important exporter, but these exports have experienced a very painful decline. Can you imagine an Orwellian state where tourism is talked about from morning to night and there is no talk on a show about exports that employ over 100 thousand employees. It is the main employment sector in the industry.
