The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, said that he has submitted two amendments to the Assembly that aim to facilitate and support the work of new justice institutions such as SPAK and BKH.

In a statement to the media, Basha also commented on the attack with a tritol against judge Tonin Sterkaj in Shkodër, saying that this attack comes at a time when a language of hatred has been spoken against the institutions of justice.

"Such acts must be unequivocally condemned by all. All those who attack the employees of the judicial system must be brought to justice. I deeply regret that these attacks come in a language of hatred towards the justice system.

The attacks against justice should be stopped immediately and every case should be dealt with within the justice bodies. I want to make a call to everyone without distinction, regardless of the relationship they have with SPAK, to support the DP amendments, which make it possible for SPAK and BKH to have sufficient resources and the entire legal framework. The corruption of the current governors is Albania's biggest wound and obstacle to EU membership.

If MPs do not do this, they are exposed as puppets of old politics. I ask them to support the pro-SPAK amendments", declared Basha.

Asked about Ilir Meta's attacks on Saturday, Basha said that he was in Italy and did not follow him.

"I didn't even see them at all. My friends in Italy laughed at the miserable performance. The problem is not just with Lulzim Basha and PD, but with the model we represent," declared Basha.
