The political leader of the Democratic Party in the Fier region, Gazment Bardhi, broke his silence and made his first reaction after the May 11 elections.
He thanked Democratic supporters, but stressed that he is heartbroken that the elections failed to express the real will of the citizens.
According to him, in Fier they were faced with "a gang of corrupt ministers and directors."
Although he speaks of a "gang of corrupt directors", Bardhi does not mention the non-recognition of the elections as declared by the Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha.
Bardhi warns that the democrats will stand together unyielding because Albania needs free people.
"A heartfelt thank you! With a broken heart that the May 11 elections did not succeed in expressing the real will of the citizens, I want to humbly thank all those democrats and opposition supporters who trusted the Democratic Party with their votes! In the Fier region, we were free people in the face of a gang of corrupt ministers and directors, who used the state and organized crime to maintain power! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your endurance and trust! A special thank you to the structures of the Democratic Party, the commissioners, observers and tireless counters! We will stand together unyielding because Albania needs free people", Berisha wrote.
We recall that in Fier, the Democratic Party won only 4 deputies, while the Socialist Party won 12 mandates.
