The local elections of May 14 marked a very negative record for low turnout. According to the CEC, 37.79 percent of voters participated in Sunday's elections.
However, this figure should be taken with reservations since many votes were declared invalid and here we are not talking about those technical errors on the part of the voter.
For the first time, in these local elections, electronic voting was applied in three municipalities, in Elbasan, Kamez and Vorë. The voters of these municipalities, apart from the candidates, also had the option to choose "I do not choose any candidate". Exactly, 3208 people in these three municipalities voted for this alternative, reports A2.
According to the CEC, in Elbasan 1,706 citizens did not want to choose either of the two candidates, including Gledian Llatja from the Socialist Party and Luciano Boçi from the Together We Win coalition. Even in Kamez, this figure is significant, since "Nobody" was voted by 1146 people, while the lowest is in the municipality of Vora, with 356 votes.
