Left without a political haven to run in the May 11 elections, The Basha is towards a political agreement with his one-time ally, Dashamir Shehi, recently distanced from Sali Berisha.

The traditional ally of the Democrats confirmed negotiations with the former Democratic Party chairman to come together in the spring election.

"We are negotiating with all groups within the Parliament and we have almost agreed, with Alibeaj, Basha's group and others and we have almost agreed and are closing this work," Dashamir Shehi said.

The pact for the new right-wing coalition that is on the horizon envisages competing only on the open list.

"As far as open lists are concerned, we have agreed, and on technical possibilities how to empty the closed list," she added.

The young have lined up against the July SP-D pact, as according to them the agreement of the two major parties closes the lists, leaving the seats in parliament again to the speakers, not the citizens.
