In two weeks, 50,000 Albanians from the diaspora have already registered for the May 11 general elections.

These are the latest figures updated by the Central Election Commission, after processing over 79 thousand applications, while requests have exceeded 83 thousand 700.

From the processing, it turns out that the largest registered group is that of Albanians in Italy, where the requests constitute over 35% of the total. The number of requests in actual terms is 29 thousand 658, as of the writing of this article.

Meanwhile, Albanians from Greece, Germany, the USA and the United Kingdom follow in the ranks of countries.

In the division by districts, the majority of applicants vote in the Tirana district, followed by Fier, Korça, Durrës, Berat and Vlora.

According to the processing of figures, the most approved requests by region are in Tirana, with 9,451, or 20% of the total approved requests. Fier also sees a high number, with over 7,000 approved requests.

Based on countries, the most approved voters are Albanians from Italy, followed by those from Greece, Germany, the USA and the United Kingdom.

Young people are the category most interested in voting so far, with almost 40% of requests coming from the 18-35 age group.

Middle-aged people follow in this regard. Meanwhile, among the oldest age groups, over 56 years old, there was less interest, accounting for only 15% of the total applications.

Problems have been encountered with applications, especially for Albanians in Italy, where the main reason was the uploading of incorrect documents. Despite this, with the assistance of the Central Election Commission, they have been helped to reapply, so that their requests can be accepted.

The registration deadline is set for March 4, 2025, thus giving everyone a chance to complete the procedure and exercise their constitutional right to vote.
