Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with the tax structures for the presentation of the plan for the fight against informality, accompanied by other ministers.

In his speech, Rama focused on the average salary and small businesses, stating that the latter will not have taxes and VAT until 2029, to give them opportunities and breathing space to develop.

" Here is an important group, the interest and practically it is the other side of the coin, the need to increase pensions, which is entrepreneurship. By chance yesterday, I happened to be among a service here in Tirana and I asked the owner what his minimum wage was. 600 euro minimum salary for sanitary and 1120 euro average salary. I bring this example to say that these are the real wages for the respective sectors. This is the real salary for all services of this nature in Tirana and a little lower in other areas.

But when it comes to declaring wages, the picture is completely different. We are the only country in our region that has small business with zero tax and for a curiosity, there is no other country in the world, but we are talking about the region, where only 10% of businesses pay tax-profit.

90% of businesses are freed from the tax-profit burden, as a result of a strategy of our government, for years now, that we have decided that until 2029, we will leave small business without taxes and VAT up to 200 thousand euros turnover. To give it breathing room, to give it a chance to develop. But there is another figure more remarkable in its own uniqueness.

In Albania, only 20% of businesses pay VAT. 2/3 don't pay for the same reasons I said. And of all the facilities that have been given to businesses, here I see people from the tourism sector, they had 20% VAT a few years ago and rightly demanded another VAT. We have fallen into a region where all the sharks are in the Mediterranean. We did the lowest, 6%.

And do you know how much money goes into the coffers of entrepreneurs from these facilities? It is 1.1 billion euros per year. And we are talking about 1.1 billion euros in the budget of the Republic of Albania ", said Rama.
