Yzberisht in Tirana

A debate started on the social network TikTok has escalated into a potential conflict between dozens of minors in the Yzberisht area of Tirana.

According to sources, it all started after a debate between two minors on social media. The verbal clash then moved off the platform, where the young people began organizing themselves into groups to meet and "clarify things."

In the conversations between them, according to sources, defiant expressions such as "they are stronger than us in the neighborhood" and "we will not let them make us strong" were also used.

After these communications, the minors allegedly arranged to meet in the area where they lived, with the aim of causing a confrontation between the groups.

Police from Commissariat No. 6 received operational information about the planned conflict and intervened before the situation escalated.

The officers identified some of the minors on "Besim Alla" street, and during the search they found that some of them had baseball bats with them, which were suspected of being used during the collision.

Following the actions, the police have also identified other minors who were expected to be involved in the conflict. In total, 23 minors, aged 13 to 17, have been criminally prosecuted while at large.

The police seized two baseball bats, while the procedural actions were carried out in the presence of the parents and the psychologist.

The materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.

The case brings to mind how conflicts between minors can start on social media and then move into real life, including other peer groups.
