The case of Greta Gjoci , the mother of a 4-month-old baby, has taken a new turn amid the lawyers' boycott of the new regulations of the Special Court.

The lawyers of Greta Gjoci, who is in the Pojska prison with her baby, have stated that they will take over her representation, despite the lawyers' boycott.

"Let's take the risk and jeopardize the license," the lawyers declared, according to journalist Hoxha, arguing that the decision is related to the fact that their client has a small child and that the case is considered by them to be of a humanitarian and unprecedented nature.

Gjoci was arrested immediately after the decision of the Special Court of Appeal, along with 15 other people, in the context of the call center case.

According to Anila Hoxha's reporting, she is expected to appear before the Special Court to familiarize herself with the relevant procedures.

Gjoci's case has previously attracted the attention of the Ombudsman, as she is serving her sentence together with her 4-month-old baby in the women's prison in Pojska.

A working group of the Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture at the Ombudsman has initiated verification at the prison, with the aim of examining the situation and circumstances of the case.

The Ombudsman has announced that after the monitoring is completed, he will publish the findings. The development comes at a time when the Chamber of Advocates is conducting a boycott in opposition to the new regulation of the Special Court.

In this context, the decision of Gjoci's lawyers to take on her representation is related to the special circumstances of the case and the fact that she is in prison with her minor child.

Gjoci was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months in prison for the criminal offenses of “computer fraud”, committed within a structured criminal group, and “participation in a structured criminal group”. On October 5, the Special Court of Appeal upheld the first instance decision./ tch
