Studies show that talking on a cell phone for half an hour a week can increase the risk of high blood pressure.
According to a report in " Daily Mail ", a team from South China Medical University studied whether there is a link between talking on the mobile phone and the risk of high blood pressure.
Within the scope of the research, around 200,000 adults in England were monitored for 12 years.
The study showed that those who used the phone for 30 minutes or more per week had a 12 percent higher risk of developing high blood pressure than those who talked less.
It is noted that the group with the highest risk of developing high blood pressure are those who regularly spend an hour a day talking on the phone.
It also found that those who talked on the phone for more than six hours a week were 25 percent more likely to develop high blood pressure than those who talked for less than five minutes.
The researchers hypothesized that the link between cell phone use and high blood pressure may be related to the low levels of radio frequency energy emitted by the devices.
It said the number of years the participants had used mobile phones and whether they used devices such as headphones or speakers made no difference to the level of risk.
Experts warn that phone calls should be reduced in terms of heart health.
