The evacuation of residents in Florida has begun as it is expected that the country will be hit by a tropical storm "Helene", which may be the strongest that has ever hit the US in recent years.
"Helene" formed in the northwestern Caribbean Sea on Tuesday morning and will begin a strong strengthening pace.
It could take just 48 hours for 'Helen' to go from a 45 mph tropical storm to a major Category 3 hurricane as it rapidly intensifies over the unusually warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
A hurricane warning has been issued for parts of Florida's Gulf Coast, from the Anclote River to Mexico Beach, according to the National Hurricane Center's 11 p.m. ET advisory. The Mexican government has also issued a hurricane warning from Cabo Catoche to Tulum.
