Katalin Stefanescu

The Romanian media have published a bitter news, which has shocked the world of sports in the country, as it has been announced that the former champion of the Balkans in bodybuilding, Katalin Stefanescu, has passed away at the age of 30.

Stefanescu was found dead in a lake near Lazuri in Romania and as the Romanian gsp.ro reports, the police are investigating the case. The sportsman's friend left for a while from the place where they were fishing and when he returned he was confronted with the serious scene.

The investigation will provide answers to the question of what happened and in particular will investigate the possibility that Stefanescu was injured before he drowned, because the depth of the water in the place where he was found does not exceed one meter.

Stefanescu was part of the national team in the Balkan bodybuilding championship in 2020, when he became the champion of the Balkans and Romania. He worked as a fitness trainer, was married and had a little daughter, reports the independent portal.
