Another star dies, the famous Hollywood actress dies

Glynis Johns, known for her role as Mary Poppins, has died aged 100. The British actress, whose career spanned more than 60 years, died on Thursday in Los Angeles, her manager confirmed.

She appeared in dozens of films and also played roles in the theater. Her manager, Mitch Clem, said in a statement that the actress' death was a "black day for Hollywood".

Johns starred opposite Dame Julie Andrews in the classic 1964 Disney musical Mary Poppins, which won five Oscars.

"Today is a black day for Hollywood. "Not only do we mourn the passing of our beloved Glynis, but we also mourn the end of the golden age of Hollywood," he said.

She also won a Tony Award in 1973 for her portrayal of Desiree Armfeldt in Stephen Sondheim's Broadway musical A Little Night Music, in which she sang Send In The Clowns.
